Maulidur Rasul

Masjid Annur organised its fifth and last Maulidur Rasul event this year. A mind-blowing figure of 12, 000 fellow Muslims, including myself, attended the event to celebrate our Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

From savouring the soulful voices of the respective Nasyid [choir groups] and listening to the preachings delivered by the various Ulamak [religious elders] to reading out praises to God the Almighty and Prophet Muhammad with the accompaniment of insane, high-energy drum beats with a strong arabic flavour - it was simply awesome, and I mean that in a very religiously harmonious and emotional way.

Trimedia Publishing
chris brown - young love

Internship at Trimedia Publishing has proven to be a month of free invites to bad Korean movie screenings [amongst some excellent foreign indie flicks], painfully long periods of boredom, a 9-5 exposure to randomly psychotic behaviour from the peers, contributing to an already pudgy tummy with constant consumption of food from our rapidly-depleting pantry and materialising a childhood Spider-Man fantasy into reality by web-slinging to my heart's content on the X-Box. Is it a wonder we render the newsroom our home away from home?

Fortunately for me, the initially-fluctuating excitement and activity level has been on the consistent incline. Being in charge of photography at the recent Holla Back Crew finals is an example. Rather premature without a doubt, but it's definitely an improvement from the Cherian George book launch. And hey, everyone's got to start from somewhere, aspiring photojournalists included.

Anyways, if you're not concerned with the above bullshit, below are some celebrity snapshots I managed to get at the reception hall for the media before the event. If you find the mainstream scene simply revolting or you're just not familiar with it, allow me to give you an introduction to the dudes from The Click 5.

"Hey girl I want to catch your wave!"
Sounds familiar, annoyingly or otherwise?

The irritatingly good-looking one.

The aloof one.

The one wearing green socks.

The interactive one.

Since I don't have any pictures of the shadiest member, I'll upload this one.
Syed Arafat Hussein should get his hand amputated because it ruins potentially good photos.

Street Fuxion.
The first [above 17] official Holla Back Crew Champion.

I would love to share with you the other things that'd been happening but I'm still home-Internet-deprived and there is only so much time my conscience will allow me to take from office hours to engage in non-work-related activities. In the meantime, I'll just have to make do with reflecting on my days on a Microsoft Word document and publishing the entries the day after at work.

home internet deprivation
silverchair - across the night

I apologise for the lack of updates on this online journal. I've been meaning to fill you in with the so-called exciting occurrences in my life but unforeseen circumstances disallowed me from doing so. In his valiant search for the activation code to crack my expired anti-virus program, Syed Arafat unintentionally downloaded and army of Trojan Horse viruses instead. Without an ounce of doubt, these virtual fiends had a stupendous time fucking my laptop upside down. This mistake on Syed's part understandably evoked a very unsightly and hostile reaction in me and sadly for you dear readers I will not divulge the specifics of my reciprocity.

Moving along, I've reformatted my poor baby but the CD-ROM drive had to be sent to the IBM Center for repairing. Without that valuable mechanic limb I can't re-install the internet program which equates to my deprivation of any internet connectivity and activity until it's fully operational again. In the meantime, I'll have to settle with pouring out the contents of my messy brain onto a Microsoft Word document and having all this bullshit copy-pasted onto Blogger tomorrow when I'm in school and privileged enough to indulge in the wonders of a wireless campus.
